Birth & Soul was born with the knowledge that families need experienced support that provides a compassionate presence and supports their whole self. Paying close attention to all of their needs, my role as doula helps them feel educated in their options, supported in their decisions, and empowered in their birth. I believe in the instinct parents have and their ability to make good choices. I find joy in helping empower families to find their options, provide evidence-based information and encouragement as they undertake this life change. As a professional birth worker, I take your birth, your desires and your needs seriously. Clients love my calm demeanor, unwavering support of their choices and professionalism.

Hi, I’m JoLynda Anderson. I provide collaborative care to families in all stages of parenthood. Providing support from conception to infanthood for families, my unique backgrounds and education make for a model of continuous, trustworthy care as families welcome a new member. My philosophy is that families deserve nonjudgmental support, recognition of their feelings, and knowledge of options. I attend to the uniqueness of each family and embrace families with an inclusive spirit. I know that when you are nurtured as a parent, you are better able to care for your newest family member and each other. I have a passion for the whole person. I care about you, your family, your soul, and your mind.

About JoLynda

With a background of over a decade of work in Early Childhood Development, JoLynda’s care extends into infancy, supporting parents during the postpartum period as they adjust to their growing families. She began attending births in 2008 as a support person and completed her professional training in 2015. She quickly dove into birth doula work. Her passion for protecting the choices of families in the way they want to birth is her strength. Families also rely on her in the postpartum period as they learn how to care for their unique child. JoLynda's expertise in special education, autism spectrum disorder, ASL studies and blended families helps bring a unparalleled view and creative parenting strategies to families as they make choices once baby arrives.

JoLynda has a special heart for parenting after loss, infertility and deliveries with unintended outcome support. She is a DONA trained doula with additional training through StillBirthday, Spinning Babies and Madrilla.

JoLynda and her husband are parents to 2 children, a strong, fun teen and a busy, sassy preschooler. She likes to spend her time hiking with her family, traveling, trying to surf and searching for the perfect espresso bean.
